Why I Read

I’ve been writing a blog called The Happy Conservative. I’ve devoted time and frustration and certain failure to creating awareness about conservatives on campus. I go to a college full of garden variety liberals and moral relativists. I am trying to change minds and change the world. Head on over there and help; I’m looking for contributing authors.

In short, that blog is for others. I’m trying to find a way to contribute from my own niche, my own comparative advantage.

This blog is for me. Here, I’m going to organize my reading. I want a reason to focus and an audience to share it with. I’m not looking to change minds here, I’m looking to learn from those older and better read.

My main complaint about my college is that I’ve managed to get through my junior year and have read little and even less of meaning. You can read all about that at the other blog. It’s here that I’ll try to correct my ignorance.

First up, Russell Kirk’s The Conservative Mind.
